Quick, easy and useful scent training

  • Does this sound familiar to you? You're walking along with your dog, enjoying a gorgeous walk in peaceful countryside. You can see ahead and know that there is nothing around for your dog to chase and you smile, feeling relaxed and happy to be able to just enjoy your walk. Suddenly, your dog just takes off and you can see that their prey drive has kicked in big time.

  • Or maybe your dog is nervous or reactive or too full of energy?

  • What if I could show you how to turn your dog into an expert sniffer dog to help with the lost keys? And what if that would help them be calmer into the bargain?

Did you know that scent training can provide the following benefits.

  • Finding and pointing an object out is a great activity for calming a dog who has become over excited by wildlife smells.

  • Learning how to use their nose to find something allows dogs to learn valuable PROBLEM SOLVING skills.

  • Gaining a new skill like this can give your dog a powerful CONFIDENCE BOOST.

  • It can help your dog to see you as a great hunting partner rather than a blocker to their fun.

How amazing would you feel if your dog learned a brand new skill that would

If any of that sounded good to you, I have brilliant news for you. I have a class just for you - it's called Scent Training for high prey drive dogs.

In it I'll share with you how to teach your dog to use their nose to find your keys.

“It's such a useful course for a busy nose.”

The course on its own is well worth the money I charge but I love to give valuable extras with all my courses. With this one you'll get.

Woman with a dog.

Hi, I'm Tracey. I have over 15 years of experience and am also fully qualified to give advice and support with dog behaviour and training. I have a BSc (hons) degree in Canine Behaviour and Training. I am a Tellington TTouch Practitioner and an ACE Advanced Tutor. I am currently studying for an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training and have made prey drive in dogs a focus for my time as a student.

Cuillin - my collie cross - loved to follow his nose more than anything else in the world. An activity that lots of people think is benign. It wasn't for us. Cuillin used to get lost - he was once lost overnight. For quite some time, I despaired of ever being able to walk him off lead in wild places.

That's what led me to start learning more about the amazing power of dogs' noses.

I found ways to work with Cuillin so that I became a partner in his fun rather than a barrier to it.

Not all dogs are as passionate about following scent as Cuillin is but many are and the training in this class will help.

“One more thing we have that's not really toys or food is indicating, both boys love it . . . and as I have keys on me when out it's really handy! They both find that really rewarding, to the point they get all giddy over my car keys, which I've been asking for a behaviour then dropping the keys as a reward for them to indicate on, food reward and start again.”

“Find My Keys, helped build a great bond with both my dogs, it was both fun and useful. Using the keys unique scent combined with my own really helped Silvino and Carlo search and find them. My dogs love to work and learn , with the foundation of scent work finding things improves their wellbeing and builds confidence. Find My Keys course has helped my relationship with my dogs on focus ,engagement and most of all giving them an outlet to use their nose and natural instincts."
